Buried in the stimulus package was a provision that sets up a new government bureaucracy.
This new agency will oversee all doctors in the US and determine whether or not doctors are being cost effective in treatment decisions.
Even worse, for those on Medicare and Medicaid, there will be a new "cost effectiveness" criteria determined by dividing the cost of a procedure by the number of years one will benefit from the procedure. This is one step closer to national health care and rationing that will be inevitable as it is in every country that has single payer nationalized health care.
What will soon follow this plan is a federal law legalizing assisted suicide (even though nothing in the Constitution grants the federal government the power to do so). Once assisted suicide was legalized in Oregon, the state started denying treatment for cancer and paying for assisted suicide instead. (Just ask Barbara Wagner and others)
This will happen in the US on a national level unless BO is stopped. Don't expect the courts to stop state sanctioned murder instead of treatment. It will be touted as the new patriotism. It is not fair for the elderly and disabled to soak up so much of health care taxpayer dollars.
The new law will authorize the health bureaucracy to withhold treatment for anyone who does not meet the "cost effectiveness" criteria. And that means "be patriotic. Go Home and Die."
